1. How do I know the audiobook works with my computer or portable player?
The audiobooks are in the MP3 format. Almost all computers and portable player support this format. If you are unsure if your player supports MP3, contact the retailer.
2. What is MP3?
MP3 is a compressed audio format which is very commonly used on computers. MP3 files can be played on most players available on the market, and they are not protected by any DRM which can hinder the ability to play the file.
3. What does "watermarking" mean?
Watermarking is a way to protect the copyright of a book. Watermarking is not a DRM, the files as simply given a unique signature at the time of purchase. This "figerprint" can then be used to identify the origin of the file if it is illegally copied and spread. The procedure does no alter the MP3 format and the file can be treated as any other MP3 file.
The watermarking technology used is licensed by MusicTrace.
4. Where can I find the book on my computer after I've downloaded it?
Since the download is done using your internet browser, the location of where the book is saved is up to you. If you do not select a folder when the browser begins the download the browser will download the book to the default location on your computer. This can vary depending on the browser, but it's usually your download folder. If you are unsure where your book was saved, check the browser's settings for download location or search for the file on your computer.
5. What is the zip archive I can download?
The audiobooks are often split up into tracks that are 5-10 minutes long. Since an audiobook can be over 10 hours long that means there are a lot of tracks for one book. To make the download easier we have packed the files into a zip archive. This means you only have to download one file to get the whol book. Zip files can be opened directly without the need for a special unpacker by most operating systems including Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X.
6. How many times can I download the audiobook?
As soon as your purchase is completed, the audiobook is available for download. The audiobook is then available for download through your account for up to 60 days. If you need to download the audiobook after that, please contact our customer service.
7. I have an iPod. Can I convert the audiobook from MP3 to AAC?
Your iPod can play the audiobook in the MP3 format, but the native format for audiobooks in iPods is the AAC format.
You can convert the audiobook to AAC using iTunes.
